Tools for Patron Driven Acquisitions Projects
Meanwhile, we heard a lot (and we do mean a lot) about Patron Driven Acquisitions projects at this year's Charleston Conference, and it occurs to us that we've actually already got some powerful acquisitions and collection development tools at our disposal to help your library create a subset of materials from which patrons could make selections or suggestions. With Collection Reports, you could create a database of books matching particular subject and non-subject parameters—vetted for patron inspection, and possible inclusion on the library's Wishlist. The really good news is we're pretty sure your patrons could choose from among lots more books for way less cost than some other PDA models allow.
